(NEW YORK DAILY NEWS) — North Korea threatened on Tuesday to cancel a highly-anticipated meet between Kim Jong Un and President Trump over U.S. military drills on the Korean peninsula, according to local reports.

The Kim regime also cancelled high-level talks with South Korean officials planned for Wednesday, blasting the ongoing U.S.-South Korean military exercises in the region as unnecessary provocations amid warming ties, the South Korean Yonap News Agency reported.

Trump and Kim are supposed to sit down for a historic summit in Singapore on June 12.
