Where would we be without the Old Testament?

Dear Joseph:

I couldn’t agree more with you regarding these two articles (“Why there’s nothing Old about the Old Testament” and “When did God become ‘loving’?“). Like yourself, I’ve been studying the Bible now for over 45 years. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t open my Bible. As you pointed out in one of your articles, Jesus is God (John 1:1 & 14). Sad to say, most so-called Christians don’t understand that.

I’m appalled over what Andy Stanley has been preaching. He apparently doesn’t have spiritual understanding, he apparently hasn’t been born again spiritually (John 3:3).

As I’ve written to friends, where would we be without the Old Testament? Think what the world would be like without the Ten Commandments? There would be no moral standards or legal codes in the world. How would people recognize the Messiah, both His first and second coming without the Old Testament? How would people recognize and understand the role of Israel regarding Jesus, salvation, and the return of Jesus (Zechariah 14) without the Old Testament? The Old Testament prophecies are the Bona fides, the credentials of Jesus?

Unfortunately there are many false prophets and false Christs in the world today, and I’m afraid Andy Stanley is one of them, along with Pope Francis. Andy Stanley’s comments remind me of Obama who stated that our Constitution is flawed and outdated. Obama was another false prophet pretending to be a Christian, but everything he did and said indicated who he really was, a Muslim, not to mention his background or Muslim administration.

Bottom Line: Being the son of a preacher man, does not make the son a Christian!
